Re: Just getting the hang of crochet.
I would stick to crochet in the round as a learner, or google chain stitch and doubel crochet foundation, much easier than going into a chain Hi Carolyn :-) I taught myself chain and single crochet, Maddy is now helping me perfect my technique and last night taught me double crochet and also let me...

Re: Just getting the hang of crochet.
Yeah I find knitting on the strain a hassle Liz, little kids think it's great though, watching my yarn sailing down the aisle every two minutes lol.

Re: Just getting the hang of crochet.
Hope so Kath, my eyes aren't what they used to be so I found double knit and 4mm hooks a huge shock compared to knitting with 12mm needles and super chunky wool.
I'm struggling to see the individual stitches, maddy said to relax a bit more.

Just getting the hang of crochet.
After seeing Maddy get the hang of crochet in about five seconds, and make such gorgeous things, I decided to persevere with it and I finally got the basic chain stitch and single crochet sorted, just have to get used to the way you hold it. It's a bit fiddly for me. So wish me luck, I'm sat on a tr...

Can you ID this stamp please?
Hi all, Really annoyed, i was sorting out my craft stuff earlier when i came across one of my fave stamps, but some how it's ended up being broken in half. It's the toadstool one i used in this card here, but i can't for the life of me find it online or remember what the company is called. Re: Public Liability Insurance.
Hi Kath,
No, not me......although the info would be good for the future..... it's for a charity that is selling crafty stuff to raise funds, but Maddy mentioned insurance to cover products and fairs.

Public Liability Insurance.
Hi all
Did a search but couldn't find anything.....is there a recommended insurance that would cover risk to the public from your goods or stall? There seems to be tons out there, but wondered if there was a popular one?
Thanks,
CX.

Re: What Crafting do you have on go atm?
Maddy and i are getting stuck into a couple of projects to help the homeless through what will undoubtedly be a really bad winter. Lots of knitting for "The Rucksack Project", where you donate a rucksack full of the essential basics for a homeless person (sleeping bag, flask, warm clothing etc). Als...

Re: A sticky situation with glue gun!
Hi Adele, i'll ask Maddy what she used, she used to swear by hers.
I on the other hand always gave them a miss.....the words "glue" and "gun in the same sentence always seemed to serve as a warning for me as an accident waiting to happen.

Just an update to say i got these needles today, they are really nice. I'd say they were a touch heavier than normal needles, but smooth as anything and really nice to use.

Re: Button holes in knitting....are they easy enough to lear
Thank you Kath and Linda, the video was simple enough to follow but still looked a bit daunting and alien to me, then again i've done casting off so it's not something i can't do. Between the vid and the explanation from Linda, it should be manageable. I'll practice on a spare piece instead of messi...

Button holes in knitting....are they easy enough to learn?

I'm wanting to make one of these for Maddy and the girls.... http://img1.etsystatic.com/001/0/6109875/il_fullxfull.369786897_mv74.jpg Hopefully they won't have such a concerned/scared look as the lady in the pic when i'm done, but anyway.... I've only ever done plain garter stitch, and j...
