TTC013-6: Use a tutorial

Post by craftyhazelnut » Tue May 28, 2013 2:42 pm

I hope it's OK that I'm posting this early because we are going to Eastbourne on Thursday for eleven days.

For this month's challenge I'd like you to find a tutorial, follow it and share it for others to use, along with your creation, of course. This needn't be a card, it could be anything you wish. You might want to follow a tutorial already used and shown by someone else during the month or find one of your own to share.

I'm starting the ball rolling with a tutorial that you can find here for a flip flop card (sometimes called a swing card): http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resou ... flop_card/
This was prompted by the monthly challenge on Sweet Stamps here: http://sweetstampsblog.blogspot.co.uk/2 ... -flop.html

Mine is a very simple version because time is tight before going away. I used double sided card. I drew pencil lines to indicated where to score and cut which made it easier.

And flat:

I've used one side of the swing to put my greeting and the other side to put a stamped image - stamps are from Joanna Sheen's willow pattern set. I stamped the cup and saucer first and then masked to put the jug behind.

I hope this challenge will be fun and give us all some new ideas.

Oh, a great challenge Hazel, and a lovely card.

I really should look around more at the many tutorials and try some new ideas.

I am going to do a BIG CHEAT as I have just blogged exploding box no.3 and linked it back to the tutorial, on one of the home pages HERE!

So I will share it.

Good challenge Hazel. I shall have a hunt.
THREE lovely boxes, Adele. Not really cheating though. If you have 12 to make you will have very little time to go hunting!

Sorry, Carolyn, forgot that was there. I had a cutting template for the robo and could have adapted that for the cricut, but thought I'd make it myself rather than mechanically.

Loved the flower tutorial Kath. Have also spent ages looking through her blog. She is very talented. I wish I could just create and go where the art takes me but I'm a bit too reserved to do it. When I used to go to Weston-Super-Mare to a crop, the girl who ran it used to do tutorials for us to create art journals.

Now what can I do for this project? I did finish my mums watercolour stamping card yesterday. I used the tutorial Carolyn posted a week or so ago.

Use the one you have made already, Melis. It sounds lovely.

Here is another video I have found that looks good. You could use any shape to make these.

Love this challenge, looking around for tutorials is really not something I get a chance to do. I will watch with interest and hopefully join in several times.

Thank you for the challenge. xx

Oh yes, please, Melis, let's see what you've made.

I watched the youtube vid with the flowers last night, Kath - as you say, a very talented and creative young lady.

Yes, it is her birthday today and she loved it. She didn't realise I had painted it until I told her.
