Re: Bread Maker machines!
I use mine. And use to use it properly, but I have had problems getting It out of the tin. I b8ught a new tin and it was ok for a while, but still had trouble getting the paddle out. I Have not looked into them recently I would think the paddle will end up in the bread, and I would try and choose the one that effects the bad the least. Also the loaves are squarer, so choose the best shape.
I use ours most weekends to make the dough, and generally from packets, I then take the dough out and cook in a tin in the oven. It also means I cook a bigger loaf than if it was left in the machine as mine isn't big enough for a 500gm mix, but is fine just for dough.
The physical machines are quite big, not sure if they are smaller. Mine is about 10 years old now. It has a little window which I like.

Re: Bread Maker machines!
it looks really good and see that someone has commented on the paddle not making a big hole, so that is good, I'd go for it! Almost tempted myself
Re: Bread Maker machines!
I have a bread maker but haven't used it for ages. The trouble is it makes such nice bread we eat too much !!! That one looks good though, Adele.
Re: Bread Maker machines!
Well, we decided to go for it. Will have to look at a few of the recipes and try them out! x

Re: Bread Maker machines!
Well, this morning we tried it out for the first time. To keep it quick and as simple as possible we decided to use a prepared mix, Parmesan and sun dried tomato....SCRUMMY! We have just had a lovely, sort of ploughman's lunch! A slice of thick fresh bread, some ham, a bit of Stilton and some of my dad's "home made" pickled onions!
We cannot wait to try out this recipe!

Re: Bread Maker machines!
Ooooh the lemon cake looks lovely! Glad you enjoyed your bread. I might have to get ours out again now!!!

Re: Bread Maker machines!
I think the packet mixes are good, I guess starting with all seperate ingredients is even better, but I always have successful bread from them and there are loads to choose from.
Re: Bread Maker machines!
I know it's sad, but I am excited about the lemon cake currently mixing in our bread maker!
It's smelling delicious already. I do hope it lives up to my expectations!

Re: Bread Maker machines!
LOL, disaster! Hmm, maybe I'll stick to the bread!
Not quite sure what went wrong!
I have been hoovering and crawling around the floor pinning a thermal lining into yet another curtain, so taking that into consideration Kath, my back's not too bad today. I am just about to sit down for the evening so I will get the heat pad out and put my feet up.
Thank you for asking!

Re: Bread Maker machines!
I have never tried a cake in mine - or jam, wasn't sure if I fancied either
did it not rise? or not cook?

Re: Bread Maker machines!
Neither Carolyn, I stuck to the exact recipe but it came out flat, crusted on outside but dense and uncooked on the inside. Fit for nothing more than the bin!
