Using Buttons
Buttons are always a useful standby on a card. They come in loads of colours, sizes and styles and are extremely cheap too. I thought I would update this page with some more recent, and just show you some different ways to use buttons. If you have a shank on the button cut it off with pliers, be careful that the back doesn't fly up into your eye. If you don't have pliers your could try a craft knife, but please be careful. You can see here that plain buttons can be livened up by threading something through - ribbon, fibres, cotton or maybe wire Check out the shop as there are still some nice ones for sale in there. 	It's A Boy This is one I made a while back with these really tiny buttons, they are perfect to add a bit of interest to the tag. I cut the tag cut using a punch that I have had for years. You could finish the hole with an eyelet. I have used the baby shoe brads from the shop. The ribbon is the really narrow sheer that is available in a variety of colours and is great with charms.		Happy Anniversary I made this for my husband and I didn't want it to be too "girlie". I have threaded the button with some sheer ribbon, and just added it to the heart.
Bunch of Flowers I joined all three buttons using sheer ribbon again.		Blue Flower Buttons are perfect for the centre of a flower, again threaded with ribbon - but not necessary. The flower here is a Prima flower that I bought in a pack.
	Happy Birthday Clare has added a button threaded with ribbon for a fab accent to the felt flower. Another button in the same colour added to the greeting.		Retro Tags Clare has used a circle punch to make these tags adding an quicklet and fibres. The tiny buttons keep the circle theme going.
Grandad This was made using paint and tools that started life as buttons. Ripping and tearing paper on the tag gives the white edge.		New Home These little houses are buttons, Clare added some fibres and ribbon to make a lovely card.
	New Home Another little house button - I used the Craft Robo to cut the words, if you have one - I have put these on the Robo pages.		Shoes These were some clear plain buttons I was sent in a swap - I threaded some fibres through them and mounted them on some lovely sheer ribbon - also received in the swap.
Big Daisy I love this daisy punch - I bought it second hand and it has had loads of use. I like to finish it with a centre and a button is aways easy and effective.		Thank You This time I have left the buttons plain, they are a set of buttons from DCWV (they are in the shop), and come in three shades of the same colour. The stamped imaged has been made using marvy felt pens. It made a change to use a strip of the patterned paper instead of ribbon.
