You will need:

  • Rubber stamps or die cuts
  • Buttons
  • Birthday sentiment
  • DS tape
  • Bone folder

Score and fold both pieces of A5 card at ˝ and 1 inch (1 and 2 cm) on the short sides – valley, mountain, mountain, valley – and crease with a bone folder.

Cut an aperture from the middle of one of the pieces of card. This is now the ‘front’ of your card.

Layer up a stamped image or die cut, to place on the inside back of the card, using off cuts of paper and card and mount them onto the piece cut from the aperture.

Make sure the mat is lined up with the aperture before sticking it down.

Now is the time to decorate the front of the card around the aperture.  I don’t have a brayer so I stamped my clown image and scanned it before printing the reversed image and colouring them the same.

Add one image on either side of the aperture and the rest of the embellishments/sentiments to suit.

Place DS tape or glue between the outer edges of the card and the first fold line and stick the front to the back of the card on both sides.  Check out the photos to see how it should look.

The card will fold flat and fit into a C5 envelope for posting.
