Knitting

Here are some ideas provided by the forum members.

These were provided by NZJane

A jumper still being knitted (using cocktail sticks)

use needles size 2 1/4 and double knitting wool, and stocking stitch.
cast on 8 stitches
knit 10 rows
cast on a further 4 stitches, then knit that complete row (all 12 stitches)
when you get to the end, cast on another 4 stitches (for the other sleeve)
knit 2 more complete rows and then knit only 8 of the third row- so that the knitting stops mid jumper.
Thread the stitches on to cocktail sticks, and roll the remaining wool into a tiny ball to hang beside the jumper. You can always add tiny beads to the end of the cocktail sticks.

Baby 'Jacket'
Use size 2 1/4 needles and double knitting wool.
cast on 8 stitches.
knit 10 rows.
cast on another 4 stitches and knit only (leaving 4 on the other needle) those four stitches for 2 rows (makes a sleeve) cast off that sleeve.
Knit the remaining 4 stitches and then cast on 4 more (to make the other sleeve)
Knit 2 rows again and cast off.
You now have a little jumper with a sort of V neck. You can add bows and beads as buttons to the front.
