I am sorry but I haven't done anything and it doesn't look like I will have time either.

A friend's husband who lives in Ramsgate, has a broken back and is usually mobile with crutches and a mobility scooter. He woke up Friday morning in agony with muscle spasms ...... it is a very long story, but briefly:

They couldn't release the spasm and he fell. Taken by ambulance to hosp Friday evening; needed an MRI but Margate has no funding to do MRIs at a weekend; no vacancies in the three major suitable hosps in London and so sent blues and two's in an ambulance to Haywards Heath - Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre. An operation was likely but now doesn't seem needed but he still has no muscle below the waist with the exception of moving a toe on his right foot and wiggling his toes and moving the leg side to side on the left.

We drove 2 hours to Ramsgate to collect wife and then 2 hours back again yesterday so she could visit. She stayed overnight and they let her visit again this morning as we needed to do the 4hours round trip again this afternoon. I want to visit Shaun each night in hosp as I will be his only visitor until he is either returned to Margate or we collect Pat again.

Fitting this all in around work and so I think I may not manage to join in, really sorry, because I enjoy these quizzes.

Oh Liz, that all sounds terrible. I hope they can do something for him. Backs are dreadful things when they don't work. I hope he regains his mobility.
